Brand new to overlanding in general-2003 suburban

What kind of environments are you planning on exploring? Mud, sand, snow? This will help us give you better recommendations, but remember, they're just that. Everything you do should be geared towards you and your rigs purpose. Nothing is the best because a guy or gal on the forums said it was.

What tires do you like? (Merged Thread)

    Tax return plans?

I don't ever get any money back. I make sure I owe nothing before April, otherwise I could end up paying a lot to the government in my tax bracket. I do get a bonus in April, which I'll probably use some of to get an AEV rear tire carrier.

Well September 4th is a holiday, so I'm proposing September 1st - 4th, unless that is a busy weekend for everyone. As far as locations go, I'm proposing the following: Sheep Junction Range, north of 100 Mile House Alexander Mackenzie Trail, near Quesnel - Just a portion of the trail probably...

    Tire Valve Stems on trail

My AEV salta wheels have stem protectors (see top right), but that's an expensive fix.. also the best fix. Short of that, carrying a removal tool and extras is safe bet. Also re seating a bead with fire is a good thing to know.

    Winter...

The storm on the west coast right now is insane. I haven't seen this much snow in like 10 years, lol.

Well lets narrow it down to a month, because I know it's a busy summer. I'm thinking either May or September, to avoid conflict with all the event mid summer.

I think the membership # is what makes this community so unique. You know that the person is vested into the same thing, and not just a keyboard warrior. Patch with the member # for me.

    GPS/Tablet

It works great, haven't had a map issue yet. There are 3 or 4 different maps you can use that come with the application. Even for hiking I find it great.

Have a vanity license plate? Let's see it!

Not exactly vanity, but close enough. BC Parks license plates, there are three designs you can choose from. I chose the one which portrays the Purcell Mountain Range.

    Four Max Traxes or Two?

The brighter the better! Can't imagine a brown max trax would be easy to find in mud.
