Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I REALLY am liking my rotopax. I've used them a grand total of 2 times now... the other times the fuel wasn't required but simply having them enabled me to utilize the full capacity of my tank with no worries.
I used them this past trip and they are sure nice to handle. The no-pour spout...
Another little trip to my favourite spot, with my whole family this time.
I had to do a bit of digging due to the little boulder.... I dug a hole in front of it and gave it a nudge and it fell right into the hole nicely.... and now was too low to be a nuisance. Long handled shovels are always...
We got a Foodsaver vacuum sealer and it's a game changer as well. We've packed food in to freeze it and then it packs nicely into the fridge. We've decided this time to just use the ARB and not an additional cooler since we're only going for a few days. When we go for over a week we will...
Ahhh yes... I've been meaning to get RainX for the windows. I use the washer fluid... but to do the side windows and give the front one a real good treatment would be great.
I also have everything packed the day/night before... and there's always some little thing that morning that ends up...
(not sure if this is the right sub section, move if needed)
There are always a few little things that we do that maybe not everyone does. I'm not talking about the "big pack".... I'm talking about the little things that you think are good/essential to do for you.
The day prior to leaving I...
If you (or anyone reading this really...) are heading this way I typically camp near the Ontario/Manitoba border just into Ontario (near Kenora area) and if you want to head that way to camp WAY off the beaten path I can steer you in the right direction. A vehicle with good ground clearance is...
I agree that would be an appropriate place to see where a member is from... the other site I'm on has it there and I guess I got used to it.
Once I realize it doesn't have it there I've put my location in my signature.
Just for the record... if anyone wants to come up to this area or near it..... contact me and I will provide detailed instructions on where I camp and a couple other places to explore. I might even join you.
With no other members near me I figured giving turn-by-turn instructions was overkill...
Yeah, if I turned around every time I put it into 4Lo I wouldn't get anywhere... I spend the whole time in 4Lo typically.
The lack of recovery gear was especially telling.... I'm not saying you need to outfit your rig completely with name-brand high-end gear... but get SOMETHING.
I'm glad...
To close off this little story... here are the new leaf springs. I just swapped them out today.
I've switched to the 2900# from the 1750#.
Hopefully that will be enough.
I jumped on the side of the trailer and it's got some bounce... better than before when the springs were essentially maxed...
Interesting...
Does it run on AC or DC power? Do you put a pump into a nearby water source?
We typically camp near a lake to wash up but in the spring and fall it's VERY cold (frightened turtle kind of cold).... Lol.
Sorry to hear about your tent casualty.
There aren't many tents that can hold up to that kind of wind but I believe mine has. It's the Cabela's XWT (Extreme Weather Tent).

It's pretty heavy... weighing in...
