Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I read through your build thread and went to the website to find those same rock lights and it appears they don't sell them.. Unless I'm missing something.. I like them!!
Huh.. that's weird.. but at least it doesn't die. Deathwobble can really suck, so I am glad you got that figured out. Jeep looks good man.. keep it up!
Nice build. Just went through all the pages.. Did you ever get your idle issue and death wobble sorted out? My buddy had the same idle and stalling issue. He ended up replacing the PCM and it solved his problems.
I have found that tools are a very subjective thing. People have different methodologies for choosing the tools they do. I picked what I felt was mid grade stuff that didn't break the bank, and it seems to be working fine for my limited use.
The main reason I got out of the rock crawling scene was constant breakage. Rock crawling, while challenging, was very hard on parts and expensive to repair after every run, something needed attention.
I picked up 2 20k lb tow straps for $10 each and a kershaw trace drop point folding pocket knife from dicks sporting goods.. Regularly $50 got it for $16. Did all my shopping online so I'm just waiting for the ups man to show up now.
I think I may be in the minority here.. But I've been in the rock crawling world with a built jeep on 37s where I could see a valid reason for wanting steel in case the rim bent.. But in the Overlanding world, I have yet to hit a trail where that would even remotely be a worry of mine...
Here...
I agree with this. I have my factory rims and run tires that are pretty much the max allowable width on a 7.5" wide rim. For that reason if I ever decide to go bigger on my tires I will need to buy rims too.. Wider ones at that. Depending on how big you want to go on tire size you may need to...
I'm lazy.. Generally speaking after dinner I rinse everything with water and wipe down. Reuse the following day. I then wash everything when I get home. Its been working for me so why ruin a good thing.
