  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Indiana Is For Beginners

Therapeutic as in therapy, huh? Not sure what the end result of all this therapy I have planned will be. If my Tacoma can get me to and from the Far West, catch a few fish, and back over the next couple of months I will be either totally cured or in need of much more therapy! Having owned and...

    Harbor Freight gear

I've got things from both HF and TS. Agree that TS is a little pricey but sometimes it's the most convenient. From HF I have a small Predator inverter generator and compressor that are working fine for light duty. Same with a tile saw I picked up for a few projects. Various bits, blades...

    Hi, from South Carolina

Hi Joe, welcome to the community. There's some off road around, mostly upstate, you just have to look a little harder. Lots in Western North Carolina and NE Georgia. I found and interesting place a while back down in the Pee Dee area. Woodbury Game Mgt Area. Not for the faint of heart. Lots...

    Coleman Oven

About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask...

    Coleman Oven

I don't think it would "explode". At worst maybe crack. Seems like I have seen firebrick that was fairly thin close to tile maybe thicker. Soapstone would work and whatever those round plates for cooking pizzas.

    Headache Racks? Yay/Nay?

I also have a Diamondback. Could have sworn they sold one for their covers?? Maybe not, I will look. I've only fractured my rear window once! Having one might be nice. I have a guy that could build one but I'm sure a nice aluminum one would be pricey...

Smoking Midge?? We have hatches of sand gnats and no see'ums that can be pesky and bite. I have been testing this stuff since a friend mentioned it seemed to keep them away....for a while anyway. https://www.bananaboat.com/products/sport-performance-sunscreen Haven't tried it for...

    Overland Expo Mountain West 2021

I also volunteered in early June since I have recently retired and have the time. Has anyone heard back from the event about their volunteer status? Nothing urgent here but I do need to start nailing down plans, etc.

    Batteries?

I just read some of those same articles also. One from BatteriesPlus said they weren't as affected by the heat and cold. Typical internet that one can find varying views, facts, and opinions. I have had AGM in vehicle for just over a year and it has a three year warranty so I will keep and eye...

    Batteries?

Thanks @Road . I read all of that, twice even, and I understand some of those numbers too! Thankfully, I do have a smart charger: I will pay a bit more attention during future use of the AGMs but it seems like it might not get the full charge from the vehicle alone. The heat question...

    Batteries?

Controller is what ever is stock with the vehicle. I also use a lithium battery that charges off DC, solar, or AC. It will run my refrig for 5-6 days at least...depending on how cold one sets it and how much heat it has to overcome. I have the single AGM for my vehicle systems and some LED...

    Batteries?

AGM question...I saw on here or somewhere recently that most alternators don't fully charge an AGM battery. So, I hooked up my semi-smart charger with an AGM setting on my fairly new AGM battery and sure enough it was only holding about 80% charge. After charging and sitting for a day it was...

    Share your rookie knowledge, please?

I use a paint stirrer stick for tucking the fabric under the cover. I keep several on-hand since they are flat and store easily.
