  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Roof tent liner

Do any of you roof tenters have/use a quilted tent liner! I know Tepui and 23-zero make them, but was looking for input on how well they perform? Also has anyone used one in a tent other than the ones mentioned? I have an Overlander XL from Smittybilt and was trying to determine which liner...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Last thing was a Den-Dry anti-condensation matt for under the rtt mattress, and some spare parts for the All-In-one diesel heater. All were preventatives. Don’t want mold in my tent and don’t want mechanical failures in my gear that I cannot fix in the field. As simple as they are, these...

    ROOF TENT?

it’s evolving. This pic was a silly one with a beach umbrella. Since then I have added a screen wall and a roof canopy for shade/ rain. Also added a set of boat seats and a small table that plug into/out of boat mounts...just for fun.

    ROOF TENT?

That’s one of the incidental benefits I discovered when setting up my rtt to open off the back of my rig. I mounted it on a full contractor rack and put a deck of expanded metal the full length of the rack. Now I can exit the tent in either direction. With little fear of falling down a ladder...

    ROOF TENT?

“...PS, I carry some extra padding, so if I drop, gotta hope I hit the padding” Ya, I’m with ya on that, I don’t bounce like I used to, these days it would be more of a thud and probably accompanied by a crack!

    DIY Aluminum Roof Rack Question

I’d suggest looking at unistrut, especially if you are not a /don’t have a welder. They have some low profile channel and literally thousands of connectors, brackets, etc. that you can use to configure a suitable rack system with. It is steel over aluminum, but skeletalized and ad mentioned...

    ROOF TENT?

Too funny, but as I sit and cogitate about it, I might postulate that it isn’t the fall that necessarily bothers me, but the sudden and abrupt stop at the end of it...

    Squeaky leaf springs

If it started all suddenly after the trip, I’d check for a rub point- metal on metal or even a stone that could have wedged between. I had a similar situation where a pebble bounced up a wedged near a rotor. Made a horrible noise till I found it and removed it. You could also have damaged a...

Which after market anti-condensation Matt for my rtt?

Greetings Programs, So I’m looking at some add-ons for the Smitty OL XL, specifically an anti-condensation matt. is there a “best of...” list somewhere? I imagine there is a continuom of good-better-best choices out there. I was looking at the Den-Dry brand on Amazon. Seems a popular...

Pulled the trigger on a LiFePO Battery

Never figured myself for the guy who spends $300 on a 12V battery, but I’m at the point I need one that can do what I need it to do...and not blow a lung trying to lift it...lol My Son, who lives in a Solar/off grid place in Northern Idaho, found a local DARPA manufacturing Co. up near Rexburg...

    Diesel Heater?

I was able to do some more testing/playing with the All-In-One Walmart heater. It is running well. I am still learning the control panel and programming. It is NOT intuitive. Thankfully, the FB group is SUPER helpful! Based upon some good advice, I am ordering a few extra components to...

    Diesel Heater?

Im kind of wondering if heat rises, then heating the annex might also heat the tent above? That would be “cool” er...”warm”?
