Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
If you have ever seen a hitch with a bent pin in it, or even worse tried to get a bent pin out of a hitch... Yeah, you would never use a hitch for recovery.
So, I would say go with the tow points. They should be a better choice in my opinion.
There is always an exhaustive list of potential items to bring... And everyone always has a slightly different list of what they want and what they consider quality gear...
So, I won't go into my list of gear... Most of it has already been put out there.
What I will add is this. And I've said...
I would probably have a blast... The wife and kids probably not as much...
But... We are heading to Peru only a week or so after that... So, it's a definite no for us.
that would be awesome... But the weekend after that I'm heading to Peru for a couple of weeks... I would have 0 chance of convincing the wife on that one.
While I like the look of many of the rigs... I'd go only a little bit larger than what I have... Thinking something like this.
Alum skids, 6.4 L Hemi so I could run 37" without any problems, portal axels, I'd look at fitting a flip Pac on the back. I'd have way too much fun modifying it
The plan for us is to camp as much as possible above the tree line... Not in campgrounds... We will see how that will work out :-)
And, the more the merrier. Well almost. This will be kid friendly.

Good "trip planning" and " going too far" really have nothing to do with it.
Both of those are subjective... No one ever has in their trip plan for them to slip into a ditch or come across a tree blocking their...
