    Map filter - winter camping

What part of Alberta are you in? The IOverlander app is pretty good for finding campsites, I haven’t looked to see if they list if they are winter friendly or not, but they list amenities.

Very true, there never seems to be enough time to explore it all.

    Highest road in British Columbia.

I did a quick over night trip up Canoe Mountain, which is just south of Valemount BC where we live. It’s about 13km from the turn off on the highway to the top of the mountain, and you can drive right to the very top. The road wasn’t to bad, it’s got some rough rocky spots, a little grown in in...

    Swift mountain, Valemount.

Needing to get out for a short adventure we took a run up swift mountain which is just north east of Valemount. It’s a short trail that is easily done by most rigs, even stock, there are some awesome views along the way, and if someone was looking for a cool over night spot it would be great...

Dispersed / Random Camping in or around the Revelstoke Aria.

Have you tried google earth? You can usually find pictures of some camp sites, it a good start, there or the back roads map books, I can take a look when I get home and post a snap of the area if that helps. I don’t know of any roads that run along the lake to golden, I’ve worked out the east side which would be the side, and it goes a little over 66km from Valemount, I know it goes a bit farther but I haven’t had a chance to explore out there yet. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Mica mountain.

A few weeks back I took my kids to explore the trail to mica mountain, it was challenging in a stock Ford Escape, unfortunately it won’t make it to the top without a low range. This is what the trail looks like at the top. My son got some video and I was able to put together a short video of...

    Canadian Summer Road Trip!

Yeah there is a ton on country through there, and a fairly good network of FSR roads that’ll let you snake your way north off the pavement, the back roads map books are a good resource, they also make a chip for garmin gps’s. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Canadian Summer Road Trip!

Another option is when you get to pemberton, if it’s open take the hurly fsr to gold bridge then out to lillooet, if the hurly is still closed you can take the high line road through seaton portage. If you go this on either of these, make sure you pack fuel, it’s not always available. There’s...
