Thanks for the video. You inspired me to continue thinking about Kinbasket Lake. This lake is huge and deceivingly remote. To drive from Valemount to the other side of the lake near Golden is almost 7 hours. I was thinking of exploring the other end where you can get very close to the icefields via Bush River FSR. Staring at the face of massive mountains like Mt Columbia and Mt Bryce would be impressive. I read a trip report from 2014 on the Valenciennes River FSR, by mountain climbers, going into Lyells, who went over a collapsed bridge, it collapsed into a "V" shape into water, but was doable with high clearance. Otherwise, information is hard to come by, I might just have to explore. Has anyone been there recently?

I don’t know of any roads that run along the lake to golden
Correct. I meant you would have to drive around the icefeilds through Jasper to get to the other side which shows how wild the lake really is. They used barges for logging operations and some of the logging roads are not accessible/connected via land - they go in from the lake into the valleys. What is accessible from Golden is plenty and amazing to explore and I need to make time for it.

Some of the trip reports I managed to find - this one from mountain climbers:

Much older trip report by bikers:

Ahhh ok I misunderstood, that would be an awesome loop to combine with the route I’ve been looking at that will go from Fin creek south of blue river, to three valley gap.
