Some of my favorites from my trip last summer to "the other canyon". Palo Duro Canyon State Park near Amarillo, Texas. The second largest canyon system in the USA. I'm old so I had to hike farther than I like to get to some of these. But it was worth it.
2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road - Me and the pooch are basically hermits and usually go it alone. I set it up to be able to self-rescue if needed. The places we venture rarely has cell phone signal so I bring along a winch, traction boards, ground anchor, shovel, etc.
Welcome to the party. That's a nice setup. That RTT is twice the size of mine. It's just me and my pup so plenty big enough. I just didn't know they made them family size.
2017 Off Road and my "security guard". She's too little to do much damage but that doesn't stop her from trying. At least she lets me know something is on the prowl.
Sounds good. I've always wanted to explore that part of the state but never had the time. I'll let you know more when I get closer to knowing something definite.
No problem. It amazes me too when someone isn't from the Albuquerque area. My grandfather was born in Silver City in 1899. NM wasn't even a state then. I plan on visiting the Gila National Forest and cliff dwellings sometime this summer. I'm not sure when.
My check is direct deposited to the bank and I just use the debit card everywhere. I haven't run into anyplace yet that doesn't take them. Except once I decided to stay at a state park and it was like $3.00 self-pay. I didn't have $3.00 cash so had to camp elsewhere.
My sister, a big Wizard Of Oz fan, named my truck "Dorothy" and got me a pair of little ruby slippers to hang from the mirror. I kept the name but took the slippers down as soon as she was out of sight. A bit effeminate for a dude's truck. :grinning:
