I have a 18 ZR2 gas that I absolutely love. Got it in march and I'm now at roughly 12,000 miles. I've taken trips from OK to Chicago and OK to Montana with other shorter trips between. Aftermarket is picking these trucks up and running with them so support is there and coming on more and more...
Well if Ktrail is a road I guess he's not wrong. Just an ahole.[emoji12] So much of the Ktrail is here say. You went there and have pics to prove it. It's hard to plan a trip to hit up a trail when you can't get a clear explanation from even the game wardens that work there.
And now we know why there's all the confusion about the Ktrail. Seems there's always someone that has a different story. Well using off road lighting on a road is illegal yeah but having them sure isn't.
Ouachita National Forest does look awesome and I want to hit it up for sure but aside from that and the Oklahoma Adventure Trail what are we left with? One national Forest and some back roads don't really make for much "adventure" especially when it's all 1-2 hours from OKC metro
Hi @Clayton25 I'm in Edmond too on the south east corner of Lake Arcadia. @KDC interested to see what you find. @4.0LitersToFreedom and I are thinking of getting a few folks together in Dec to hit up Crossbar. Most likely a day trip but they do have camping if you wanted to stay there too.
Hit up the OK thread in the regional section we'll point you in plenty of directions. If you're not wanting to venture too far from home the Oklahoma Adventure Trail is a decent place to start. It's mostly dirt/gravel farm roads. Ozarks in Arkansas is good as well. I don't know much about going...
On Sunday went exploring the Oklahoma Adventure Trail from Perry to Jet. About an hour away but that trail is like dirt farm roads and the occasional pavement. Worth looking into.
If you're traveling I-40 out north of Amarillo is Lake Meredith. It may be a bit of a drive from I-40 not sure how far you're willing to get off the highway. They've got some nice campgrounds and OHV area. We stayed in McBride camping area over the summer and it was quiet.
I second Lake Meredith. Wife and I stayed a night there in July on the south end of the lake on a trip up to Montana. We were the only ones in the area and was very quiet. McBride area if I remember correctly.
You'll need to come for sure it was awesome. There were only 2 Colorado's there. Me and the guy that runs the zr2zone sites/social media. Need to start tipping the tides from the Toyota's.
