Imported another rover from Barcelona. A 1991 D90 LHD with a great frame but the interior is a bit beat up. Will fix her up and sell her. 200tdi engine ia very strong and doesn't leak...might be dry, lol...
Sounds like good paint. I found the black hammer finish rustoleum at Home Depot which is easy to brush on and doesn't require shielding the truck from over spray.
Problem with OEM paint is that it will be very slippery.
Someone mentioned tacky grip tape like used on stairs. Well, I put some...
Im looking at a Snow Peak IGT solution for myself in my Defender build. Trying to decide if I should buold it into a slideout which i can attach more IGT tables or just build in the storage areas and setup near the truck. I have an RTT so my truck is generally flat but ut may be too tall for the...
Mojave has the larger annex and requires more setup with spring rods on the side windows (though u can roll them up). Depends on what your needs are. Anza is more wind resistant and has more air flow when open. Annex in Mojave has a floor and is fully enclosed while the annex for the Anza is...
I have the original InReach which functions similar to the mini in a larger package. The screen on the other InReaches dont do much for overlanding and are more geared for hikers. The mini is much better when paired with a tablet and/or phone. I have used mine the past few years and proved very...
Look at the specs on the small Tepui Ayer...it is tiny! Hence the lowest weight. Weight of fabric makes a big difference as well. The canvas is heavier but also breathes better and it warmer than straight polyester tent like Yakima.
The Overland Pros Anza has a nice open design for airflow...
Just received my Fuji X-E3 and am very excited. Great, small camera and excellent Fuji glass available. I ditched my big Nikon for the mini Nikon1 V1 but have since broken 2 lenses and Nikon is discontinuing the Nikon1 line. A lot of research later and I chose the Fuji X-E3. Much smaller than a...
I dont have the rack but maybe loosen some bolts and re-tighten them with the tent on top. The bottom of the tent might also be rubbing on a slat. Check for clearance or any movement of the rack under load. If u can recreate the squeak, u can hold a long screwdriver to ur ear to isolate the...
Gaia GPS also allows u to record trips as well. You can also see other Gaia user trips which is helpful for offroading to see if that 5 mile trail will take a few minutes or a few hours based on other users tracks.
I've heard Hema is good in Aus.
Samsung Tab A 8 inch
Gaia gps pro
DeLorme InReach 1st gen bluetooth to tablet
DeLorme app
Google maps for backup
All must download maps before your trip but DeLorme app has most maps already downloaded
I will be heading to Baja in 2 weeks and will be seeing how accurate the maps will be down...
Ice House is the start of the Rubicon. Be sure you have a seriously built rig if you want to tackle it. There are other trails around there up 50 as well. Tons of trails in the Sierras.
I started out with a film Nikon FG back in high school while taking photo class. Upgraded to Nikon D50 when my kids were born. Great camera but when I broke a lens I looked for something smaller. Being loyal to Nikon, I bought a V1 mirrorless and a few lenses. Great form factor being so small...
12v fridge is a game changer and the single best upgrade for camping. My ARB 50qt has been running continuously for 10 years, either in my truck or in my home cooling beers or fridge overflow.
As mentioned, no more soggy or wasted food. Beer and drinks stay cold. Most new 12v fridges have...
