I put mine on my console. The rig was never badged at the factory, so sticking with a theme.

I’d say mount it wherever it looks like the vehicle came with from the factory. Upper fender behind wheel well is common, tailgate or grill.
Or go nuts, get 4 and mount them on your wheel center caps lol
