What's your favorite piece of recovery gear?

Recovery strap and shovel are the most used.

Smarts because I haven't the other equipment so far, except a shovel. Hopefully I also under-estimate what my jeep can do enough so I don't get stuck in the first place![emoji51]

All the gear in the world is useless unless it is used effectively and safely.

My most-used recovery gear is my recovery strap, usually for pulling out side-by-sides that think they are submarines and family sedans that think they are snowmobiles.

My Maxtrax, they get me out of a lot of bad situations. I use them when in the rocks, Sand, or Mud. They get used often. My last set started to get a bit worn, so recently retired a set, and purchased a new set. I always have them on hand... Can even use them as a shovel if needed.
