Ok now that your all up to date on what I have been doing since I bought my Base model Forester you can ask any questions about it and I will try to give you as complete of an answer that I can to help you with your build. oh I failed to include my spot and wide light switches. they are mounted on the bottom of fuse cover. It was the best spot I could find. purchased on 7/16/2020 off-road on the third day! lol

Impressive build!
I like that custom front bar.
Why 2 ham radios?

Do you watch a guy on youtube called Softroader? something like that...Oregon based Forester owner. Really good youtuber.

If those Foresters had a low range, they would be unstoppable!

i read on OB before that there is a kit that adds a low range, my understanding is that is it not a cheap option

I love the build man! Do you feel the 2 in lift is adequate? I was against lifting my outback but the more trails I ride the more I see the need of a lift.

Subaru Forester vs. Jeep Renegade off road comparison. Let's go. I appreciate the tablet playing youtube instructions from the engine bay while you work on the bumper.

I haven't watched any of it but have it on the list to watch. as for the low range I believe it for pre 2018 and only in Australia. They do have a switch to make the center diff lock out and that's pretty cool. Oh and they also have torque locker fo the rear.

absolutely lift it and get some reasonable all terrains. clearance is your friend. if you are usable to do the lift yourself then..... the expense of a mechanic doing it is too much in my opinion.

well when your cutting out the plastic on your bumper you want to make sure that you get it right. No second chances with that. LOL

I know what you mean. There were no instructions when I did the Renegade. Measure twice, measure again and cut once.

I kinda feel bad that I did not do a video on it to help others. Im alone and my kids are 5 hrs away so it would be a big hassle to try and build and film and build at the same time.

so the Ham radio in the dash area is 2m 70m and used to connect to repeaters while I travel. The second is for long distance contacts, like other states and other countries. And by the way you never ask a Ham why he has so many radios. LOLOLOL are you kidding you can never have enough radios. LOLOL

I’m not much of a do it yourself guy when it comes to car repairs...I wish I was, especially since I’m now into overlanding. However it doesnt look terribly difficult.

I like what you have done with your Forrester. I have a 19 an I am planning a radio install. I am curious if you could show / describe how you installed the ftm 100? I think it would help me out with how I want to install mine. Thanks!
