I would get a drawer for the bed, so you don't have to crawl into the last corner to get stuff and the stuff you want is in the last corner ... Every time

Hasn’t been in an issue. Proper pack planning and the windoors help a lot for accessing gear from the sides of the shell.

I've seen their sliders. Look pretty good. Did you get the bolt on or weld on?
I got the weld on. $450 (cash price) + $150 powder coat + installation

Wanted the weld on because a lot more durable and I believe a little less expensive than bolt on.

I'm late to the thread, and you have already taken care of it. But tires are one of those things that can be done up front before getting a feel for what your other needs are. Having good tires, is always good. The advice about letting your other needs emerge as you go out and use your vehicle is good advice, if you spend a lot on optional gear up front without getting a feel for what you really want/need (based on actual problems, shortcomings, or desire for comfort, etc) you'll end up wasting a lot, and replacing a lot, and some will just sit in the garage or trash can while you go exploring.

First thing I would want to do is get rid of the steps and go for some real rock sliders and some other armor if you are planning on taking it out right away

First Mods for every vehicle I have purchased over the past 20 years:

1) Tint windows to legal maximum.
2) WeatherTec floor guards.
3) Vent Visors.
4) Verify full size spare tire.

Most of these are done before it even leaves the lot.

I'll have to categorize as I can't pick just one...
the very best modification (any category) I did on my '14 Tacoma--there were many--was a lower-mid-range ICON suspension. It was kind of the gift that kept giving. Far more comfortable and controllable.
The best usability mod was regearing to 4.88s (Its a 4 cylinder)
The best mod for playing off pavement was the ARB locker.
The best safety mod was the frame-tied exo-cage. Nice to be able to jack the truck up from anywhere along the side and it got the RTT off the canopy. :)
