Got the M416 hitched up to the XJ for it's VTR-68A inspection Thursday morning. Drained the trans and tcase for the CJ2A and found caramel in there lol. Pulled the top cover for the transmission and found some rust but not an excessive amount. Will be filling with appropriate fluid and doing some short interval changes.

Made for a nice design in the oil drainage.

I put a few stickers on my new rig today! Maine Duck Tours, Jerome, Arizona, Colorado, Great Smokey Mountains - some places I’ve been this year. Hopefully I can continue the adventure with the new rig!

I’ll be installing the 2” Receiver and a Oil Catch Can this weekend.

Replacement mirror! Dealer installed a backup camera mirror at purchase, a few years later a screen was put in the dash so it's been moot. Had a replacement windshield installed and the guys found out that it was superglued on due to a missing bracket, so off it went. Cut the cable, tucked it into the headliner, and the "mod" is restoring the mirror to OEM haha

Finally got around to scheduling an appointment with my Jeep dealer to address the TSB replacement of the original aluminum steering box in my 2020 JLUR with the now standard steel steering box which should reduce the amount of wander and dead-zone in my steering feel. I decided to get this done before I do some suspension upgrades to avoid that possibly being an issue with the dealer box swap. Steering is now tighter and tracking better in a straight line but I have only been able to drive it around town and in bumper to bumper traffic so far. Over the next weekend I will log some open highway miles for sure and will get a better sense at how much improved everything is.
