So I finally upgraded our rig set up. Went from a 03 z71 suburban with an old Korean War trailer to a 24 gladiator with an overlanding trailer. Have taken the new set up to a couple of trips and looking forward to doing some more longer distance trips.

lol what kind of upgrade we talking? engine, suspension, whatever? kinda vague dude.

if you're doing anything drivetrain related i'd say start there, everything else flows from that. but yeah need more details on what you're actually running and what the goal is. wheeling, street, both?

Yeah, I think he means he "upgraded" to a new ride. Though, if you ask me a 2024 Jeep might be a downgrade from a 2003 Chevy truck. But I'm nuts like that.

Actually my BIL has a Gladiator and it's a fun ride.

Congrats on the upgrade. Both my sons and I have Gladiators, all with 2.5” lifts and mine and the oldest are running 37” tires (mine are on stock wheels since I used the AEV lift), but not a lot of other mods. With these few mods, my oldest son took his Gladiator on a Rubicon trip and it did great, so you have stepped into a whole new world of overlanding with your new ride. Youngest son is running a slide in camper, oldest has a roof top tent and I have the project M camper, so a lot of camping options.

IMHO, the advantage of the Gladiator as an overlanding rig is it can go so many more places than most other rigs, which means expanded adventures…
