For me it’s packing up and going back to reality. Here is a little clip I put together of us packing up from my humble YouTube channel to maybe generate some discussion.

Feel free to like and subscribe.

But if you have a least favorite part of getting out there someone else might have a solution for you.

Maybe it’s dust or water intrusion, maybe it’s getting mud in your interior.

Perhaps when you try to start a campfire it’s always too smokey and unpleasant.

Post your problems and maybe someone has your solution.

My biggest issue right now is how to keep my water pump from freezing during the winter.

I'm thinking usb powered heating pads, and a custom jacket for the pump, and 3 feet of pipe.

The other is the best way to carry the spare tire for the trailer. I'm thinking I need to install some sort of universal hoist system.

That's about it for now. I think I've solved my other issues.

We traveled literally over 100,000 miles towing an expo trailer with tires & wheels that matched the tow vehicle, Using one spare tire that got rotated in. Never had a flat. I would advise to save space & weight by standardizing and rotating 7 tires.

We bring a Home Depot bucket with a seat lid, husky bags and this sawdust powder stuff. This set up has been a life saver

We traveled literally over 100,000 miles towing an expo trailer with tires & wheels that matched the tow vehicle, Using one spare tire that got rotated in. Never had a flat. I would advise to save space & weight by standardizing and rotating 7 tires.

It would take some serious work to match my trailer tires to my X. I run 265/75r16 on the X, and 215/70r15 on the trailer. The trailer tires barely fit already. I'd need a new axle, fenders and springs.

Its not going to happen anytime soon.

And the biggest one: Safety. We're unarmed while abroad. And we're disgusted by the crime in some hot spots.

The second worst is the next morning as I am getting ready to go to work. I'm exhausted and dreading the work waiting for me while simultaneously trying to estimate how long until I can take my next trip.

Two fold; The worst part is having to go and deal with all the people and heavy traffic east of the Mississippi. The other worst part is when the tour ends. We have fixed the former as we are now full timers. Our tour could well be never ending.

there is freedom there...
I spent a good bit of my life working way too hard to accumulate way too much stuff that now is a pain. one example is owning several commercial properties that I rent and have to deal with upkeep and keeping tenants happy. its a constant grind that seems never ending itself and there is always taxes and insurance that I have to pay. it feels like I'm on a treadmill always trying to keep what I have.
I've done some long trips that were long enough that towards the end, I was sort of forgetting about all the stuff I have and all the responsibilities. that was actually a really nice feeling and I definitely understand what is meant when people say that things own us instead of us owning things.

I think the truly worst thing about "adventure" is not being able to experience it fully because of the shackles of material things and allowing ourselves to get into the debt system that we are indoctrinated to get into...always owing and always having to work

good to see people breaking free from that and allowing others to see the joy and freedom that can be had when we quit focusing on things. and using credit in order to live beyond our means...
