Hello All,
I have created a Rally Point for a trip to Usal Beach starting April 19 (Friday): Usal Beach – Redwoods
This is an easygoing trip, great for people new to over-landing or dry camping. Both nights will be at Usal, with an optional day trip to the Redwoods and other sites on Saturday (exact itinerary to be determined based on group interest).

Overland travel can be extremely tough on your rig especially if you’re doing a lot of off-road driving. Any exposure to trail elements such as mud, water, dust, rocks and dirt will wear components out way faster than under normal use. It’s important to get into the habit of performing regular maintenance checks before and after every overland trip to avoid breakdowns out on the trail or on the highway. We’ll be explaining the best practices on doing regular maintenance inspections so you become familiar with your vehicle and become more capable to address any problems that may arise when you are out on a trail.

The South Bay Crew just got back from an absolutely incredible trip in Sequoia / Kings Canyon. Huge thanks to everyone who joined and made it such an epic adventure. It was definitely a memorable experience. We encountered a bit of everything on this journey: tackling a black diamond 4x4 trail, navigating through numerous snow drifts, and marveling at some truly majestic trees. I'll be penning down the complete story of our excursion and sharing it with the community in the next few days. Keep an eye out for it!

I live n Palo Alto, and have Lancruisers since 1990. We have built an 80 series expedition style and currently building a troopy. We go on month long trips mostly off grid. If interested DM me. Michael also did a walk around video on my 80 a couple years ago.

Followup to our project that identified all the dispersed campsites within the Mojave National Preserve. This project will identify access routs to campsites and develop a GPX track to be added to the data base. View Rally Point

This month, we’re excited to announce a campout in Stanislaus National Forest along the Clavey River, near Dodge Ridge, on the weekend of the 25th - 27th. This trip is classified as Moderate (level 2) due to a water crossing and weather, but the primary focus will be on camping. The trails are easygoing forest roads.
