Rocky Mountain NP to Yellowstone NP to Black Hills

Anyone know of good dirt roads in Eastern CO into NE and then to Wind Cave?
What mapping system are you using? OB1, OnX, Gaia, Trails Offroad? All those systems have their unique niche in what they offer. Personally, I feel like it is pretty easy to zoom in to a geographical area and plan a trip.

I understand that you want suggestions but I would recommend reviewing/researching the area, dig into the National Park pages, picking a basic route and JUST GO....

For scouting I use them just about alI of them. And will JUST GO when we do go, point the truck northward and drive.
I was hoping g to find info not available online. Like for instance, there is a bison ranch on Highway 9 in CO.

All good, words have meaning. Now it is clearer about your intent of the OP.

You asked!! Maximum dirt plus some! :sunglasses: My 2026 "Go West Young Man" planning phase!! :tonguewink:
If you end up hitting CO, I'd be interested in tagging along in some spots.

The original plan was to start in Pueblo West. Since I have a 3 day drive just to get there, I’m going to rest 1-2 days at a friends house or until my Army buddy kicks me to the curb! Since my turbo break/fix kind hurt the pocket book, I am evaluating if it’s still in the budget! Still holding out the hope! “I need more mountains Gandalf!”
