That is a really nice DIY work! Thanks for sharing! Two questions, please:
  • How is the entire storage box connected to the rig?
  • And what happened to the interior panelling of the rear door?
Thanks,
Bjoern

The box will be attached to the Rig due the strap points in the trunk. Easy in and easy out will be the thing to make.
The rear door will have a wooden panel which if I can will extend with some 3d printed parts.
And also will it have some extra features which I am not sure of what they will be. Depends on how the storage will work out.

Great! Simple, well thought out and the ideas well realized! I am curious how it continues! Have fun building!

And giving it some paint.
7.jpgIt does look good as I may say.
8.jpgColor coded
9.jpgStill plenty of space. Also in all the boxes.
5.jpgDo I have OCD? Well it is neat I guess.

Still in need of doing stuff. Like carpet on top and making two slide out tables.
So the tables will be used to make lunch or so, and to place the boxes if I like them to open.

Very nice! Great job, Robert! What kind of paint did you use to paint it?

I like it when you have exactly one place in the vehicle for each type of equipment, i.e. tools to tools, recovery gear to recovery gear, spare parts to spare parts, kitchen to kitchen and so on. When everything is in its assigned place, it takes less time to search (which is with regard to tools, recovery and safety gear definetly not a good idea) and you have more time for the beautiful things of traveling.

Paint is a simple one from the DIY shop. Just simple grey.
And I used also some black. As I have noe more or less color organised stuff, hahaha.
Except for one box I still need to make the definite layout of the boxes. But for now, it is in there and it is working.

Todays work was mainly glueing the carpet tiles on the system.

Here is the compressor which is now installed in the care ready for use.
4.jpg
And now busy with glueing the planks together so I can make some slide out tables, which if it works out the way I like it also will be picknick tables.

Tomorrow I hope to finish one of them and on the monday the second one.

Tools and starter cables. Two sets, I can with them reach wider as with one set. You cant get close on tracks sometimes.
