ok, first Mods are done.
Roof Garden on it and new tires (which I had for the Frontera) Falken 245/70/16

Well it looks better. The tires are better, but they look so lame. just bigger as standard.
Well first we need a lift, then we could do some nice MT tires on it.
But that will have to wait untill these are gone.

And again a little Mod done.
The LED Light Bar is mounted.

Wiring the lights in will happen tonight. Need to find all the right fuses.

Actually it has about the same size as the Frontera.
There is even more space inside, it is a 4 door car, with plenty of room in the back, and it has a good size trunk, which the Frontera just hasnt.

And again some updates.
Space for the dog, plus room for some stuff.
Packed all the recovery equipment that we need when without a winch.
And, very important, my badge is back.

Camel bags are back as well

My badge

More to come.

And again some work is done.
Now everybody knows this is a Dragonriders Travel vehicle.

And now it has some more LED lights as well.

I started with the build of the mount for the Toughbook, which we use for navigation. And hope to finish that one tomorrow.
Same for the screen for the rear view camera on the trailer. That I hope to install tomorrow as well.
If the Adapter arrives for the stereo, I hope to install that one as well.
All kind if little things planned for tomorrow. But they will take off a lot of points from my list.
All oil will be changed on saturday. And I hope it will be ready for the trip next tuesday when I do the rear brake pads.
Then it should be ready.

So, what are the differences between the two cars.

Well the departing angle is with the Frontera in compare to the Jeep way way better.
Bumper is lower as well.
But now the measurements
Differences between de Frontera and the Jeep.
Diff height
Frontera 21.5 Jeep 20.5
Width between tires
Frontera 117 Jeep 127
From axle to axle
Frontera 236 Jeep 268
Width tail light to tail light Frontera 166 Jeep 166
All in cm.
So, as you see, the differences arent that big.
And when we do a 2 inch lift with bigger tires, it all will be much better then.
I think if possible I will change the rear bumper as well, and of course I will change the front bumper.
Need to have my winch back.
Next MOD is the navigation. At last it is in as well.

Please notice that the bracket is not bolted down on the top, it is so freely to move down if the aribag is popping out.
I checked on you tube how the Airbag was working and I think if it pops the toughbook will go down and the aribag will go up.
All clear. At least the is what I think.

I like the builds a lot!

I hope it does move downwards when the airbag is deployed. Otherwise, that'll be one wicked face plant simulation.

Hi Robert,

congrats to the new rig! We met in Bad Kissingen at Abenteuer Allrad for a chat, I was with the VW T5. Sorry for not writing here earlier, had a lot to do over the last weeks.

Wish you an awesome trip to Morocco,

safe travels,

Arne

Hello Arne,

All fine. When we are back from Morocco I think I will try to organise a little round up here in Holland.
At least at a certain point one of the Overland Bound members from Scotland is coming over on his way to the Nordkapp during winter.
That will be an awesome trip.

Come and see it live in November. Great little weekend coming up. Think we need some B&B's as most campsites will be closed already.

I can't afford such a massive trip yet, maybe next year as it will require alot of saving up cash on my part (unless you can pick me up at Schiphol someday)

I can pick you up at Schiphol, Weeze, Eindhoven. Which is no problem. We have plenty of space.
