Rig Photos

What long weekend? You have to explain things like that to us because I had a very short weekend. Shorter than I like!
We had a long weekend here due to the "Kings Birthday" so we scored Monday off. I think he has 3 of them during the year, so cant complain with some days off here and there :grinning:

I have recently purchased a new vehicle - a 2019 Mazda BT50 Dualcab Diesel - and I am slowly in the process of doing it up as an all round touring vehicle.

At the time of purchase it was pretty much stock a part from a TJM bull bar - so far I have done the following modifications:

1. GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) upgrade from 3200 kg to 3500 kg which also gave it a 50mm lift;
2. Installed an ARB Frontier long range fuel tank taking the fuel capacity from 80L to 140L;
3. Fitted ARB under body protection; and
4. Fitted a Safari snorkel.

Future modifications will be:

1. TJM side steps and rails;
2. TJM rear bar;
3. RSI Evo D Smartcap canopy;
4. Spot lights and light bar (types and brands yet to be decided);
5. A winch;
6. Plus a whole lot of other accessories including an ARB twin air compressor, Boab 40L water tank, solar panel, 270 degree awning and much more.

I will post up more photos as I get things fitted.

Karl

Nice!

Rigged up 2010 FJ. New build.

Some company shoutouts:

Expedition One: Bumpers, Roof Rack
Toytec: 3” Lift
Baja Designs Lights
ARB Fridge, rack system & compressor
Goose Gear rear seat delete, trunk plate
Overland Outfitters: Bags/Storage
ROAM case: More Storage
iKamper Skycamp 3.0 RRT
Genesis Dual Battery
Samlex America 2000W power inverter

So far it’s been a good balance of capable, comfortable and practical for my purposes as a touring musician and the occasional weekend overlander. Taking it up to Maine next week for my first longish overlanding trip (2 weeks) if anyone has suggestions for places to visit/camp/explore up there let me know!

Nice!

The squad up in the Uwharries. In order from left to right, me, @Rust Problem, @JJbyrd, @aka.Kletus, @danwyandt.

That was a hoot! I think everybody's rig either bashed some thing or broke some thing. I thought JJByrd escaped clean, but I caught a video of a rock pecking his left rear wheel.

When you’re the tail gunner it makes the line easier.

Had a blast!
Thanks to everyone for coming out and to @DintDobbs for knowing all the trails and leading the way.
I am grateful to have met you all. Hope to meet up again on another trail.
