Photos of My Travels Out West

I just got back from two weeks in Central Nevada.

Over Memorial Day Weekend, coming back from the Black Rock Desert, I raised the courage to stop by a working ranch, asking about some marked Graves I had seen on some old maps. The ranchers were nice enough to point me over to their field where they were. According to sources, two women were laid to rest here making their way along the Nobles Trail.

I'm currently moving systems from my mac to my new PC, but here are just a couple from a blog post while I wait for my catalog to update.

There is nothing like the alpine tundra in Colorado. This particular day was almost exactly a year ago, and it was 29 degrees at this point.

Gratuitous pic of my super cool and adventurous kids, who were willing to get out and walk in the sleet and freezing rain at the top of the pass.

Original Post. 102 degrees in Texas, but my mind is in Colorado...

It's on my list of places to visit! And thanks!

Here are photos from a thru hike of the Timberline Trail in Oregon.

The "Overlook Hotel" as seen in exterior shots in the movie The Shining. Really, the Timberline Lodge stood in for the Overlook.
