Overland Astronomy and Astrophotography

AstroPhotography was how I got in to overlanding. Kept finding that I wanted to get more and more away from the light pollution and stumbled upon the Overlanding as the way to get out there.
Have done lots of "Car Camping" and some backpacking as a kid and teen but met up with some other photographers about 8 years ago and we now try to get together and head out a few times a year. (This year is AFU but we've done many trips all around Co and Wy with longer adventures out to Utah, NM, Western California, NV, PNW coast.
Looking fwd to the current inconvenience being resolved to get back out there.
There are a few other threads here on the forums with pics posted if you want to search for them. Here are a few I was part of:

*Is there a thread for this already? I could not find one. Seems like there should be, as it's a perfect overland activity.* Anyone care to share tips, tricks and observations? Favorite resources, maps or locations? Dark sky parks? Navigation? I'd personally like to learn more from people...
Chasing the night
For me, overlanding was getting close to something I really love. the night skies. That's what drove me to invest in 4x4 vehicles to go far far away, away from the lights, in search of the stars And as the light creeps everywhere, you have to go further and further away to find the true beauty...
Night Shots of Camp
Post 'em up. Your best shots of camp at night. No sunset pictures. No sunrise pictures. I want NIGHT shots ONLY! Bonus points for awesome Milky Way shots with light painted vehicles or lit up tents, because those kind of pictures make me drool on my keyboard. Here's my best, now you go!

What types of AstroPhotos to you shoot? Nightscapes, Deepspace, other?
We are currently in early planning stages for a road trip to BigBend NP for Spring 2021. I'll try to remember to PM as things firm up.

Yes of course,
the desert away from light pollution is a great opportunity for that.
