Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

I was thinking of setting up our next get together for 4/7, 6:30pm at Hollywood Corners. Please chime in on whether or not that works for you or if there is some conflicting event going on that weekend. It's camping season but all I'm doing is working. I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone else has planned for the Spring, early summer.
 
Meet n eat but happy to discuss/plan some trail time. Had a great group of folks show up at the first one.
 
I'm new here and just bought a ZR2 and looking to get into having some fun with it. Glad to find a group in OK. Seems to be the black hole of off road everything on every site.

Welcome Hirvy, the new ZR2s are nice trucks. Glad to have a new member, what area you from?
 
Sweet I use to live up in waterloo. about 3 miles north off of western. Its been a decade ago before all the cookie cutter additions started spreading out that way like a rash. It use to be nice quite country.
 
I live west of i35 and it's still pretty untamed out especially once you get around Indian Meridian but yeah too many cookie cutter Deer Creek houses for sure.

Hello All,

Dunno if I've posted in this thread before, but I'm in Owasso. Is there a meet-n-greet that happens regularly? I setup a Rally Point for Tulsa a few months back. A couple of guys showed up, but I've been so busy I haven't had time to plan another. Looking forward to meeting more of you all!
 
Welcome Guys....@Hirvy I live just up the road from you off RT66 in Chandler go by Arcadia quite often sneaking into the city and back out. Oklahoma is lacking in off road stuff to do around the City. We are limited to parks like Disney and Davis. @Swampcat84 believe we have talked in the past about the Owasso meet up just timing to get up there for the meet. We are planning a meet around April 7 at Hollywood Corners @soonersfan is putting out the information. We did a meet up in Feb. that had a great turnout there is also a trail run in the works that @soonersfan has information on.

Yes, we met at the one RP I was able to setup. It was great to meet ya!

Pardon my ignorance, but where is Hollywood Corners? I've got family in town on the 7th, so I dunno if I'll be able to make it, but I'll try!

I believe its in Norman. While its been a while since I've visited OU, unfortunately it is a bit far for me to escape with the family for a rendezvous. If there were one in the Tulsa metro area it would be a lot more likely for me to get away and meet up with some folks.

Okay, I'm in the same boat as you... it's hard to get out to Norman/OKC area. So, since it sounds like there's a need for a Tulsa area meetup, I made some edits to my previous RP event. View the details here. Please RSVP if you can make it!

TL;DR - Meet and Greet for BYO lunch in Owasso, OK at 1100AM on APR 7th.
 
As far as I know I will be able to make it to the Tulsa meet up. Kilkennys is always the big draw for the wife so its a win win for me .
 
May be able to join the meetup in Owasso. Sounds like it'd be good. I'm not too familiar with Tulsa/Owasso area. What's Kilkenny's?

@OKT4RCPL I'm on the south end of the lake. I imagine you were on 66 going through town. That area has grown like crazy out there since Pop's was built.
 
@Hirvy Yeah was on 66 everything has grown like crazy around OKC/Edmond and such. Kilkennys is a Irish Pub in Tulsa that the wife and I love to go to whenever we are up that way who am I kidding we make trips to Tulsa just for Kilkennys. Great thing living in Chandler is we are close to Tulsa and OKC.
 
Kilkenny's is okay. It's very tourist-y and Americanized. I mean, they don't even have Guinness on tap. I dunno how any place can claim to be an Irish Pub without Guinness on tap.

If you want a more authentic Irish Pub experience, you should try a little place right down the street from there called Arnie's.
