El Paso here, not exactly NM, but close enough. Looking for a trip this weekend in southern NM.

I'm new to this and running a stock xterra pro-4X.

Anything going on this weekend or any suggestions near my location?

Thanks,
-Chris

Head towards Queen, NM taking the backroads on the west side of the Brokeoffs. Then you can pick up the Enchanted Rockies Trail from there. (www.enchantedrockiestrail.com). There are tons of camping and offroad opportunities there in the Lincoln National forest.

Can anyone speak to specific trails in the Gila? I've spent the night there several times, but only at a paid site w/ hot springs near the dwellings.

Thanks

Chloride canyon is great. Not very hard, can be done in a stock 4x4 last time I was up it.
I will be scouting it soon for an upcoming dual sport motorcycle ride we are hosting in TorC in October. I'll post back when I get up there and see what kind of condition it's in.

Yeah it’s easy. Just a nice drive to get away from it all.
