Mojave Road trip - March 2017

@Jujubes55 and myself should be headed out from the East Bay around 8am on Thursday. If anyone is headed out around then and wants to convoy let me know.

Also for the people driving all the way out there on Thursday is there a central plan for where to meet up? It seems the numbering for the pages got changed up somehow so I lost my bookmarks but I remember there being a mention of a spot where people are camping Thursday night.

Im leaving Placerville around 0900 hrs on Thursday don't know what route I'm taking yet but will call on CB 15 during the drive

Take Park Road to Needles hwy, travel north to Avi Casino.
This is where the last gas for the trip will be (at the Casino).

From the Casino, go north on Aha Macav Parkway for about 2.4 miles / 5 minutes.

The circled area is a road to the left, it's pretty non-descript but it usually has hay bales on your left, watch for that.

Here is where we'll meet up on Friday morning at 10:00 AM.

I will be there sometime between 9:00 and 9:30. Departure from that point is at 10:00AM

Also:
From Thursday night, I will be camped off the Needles Hwy, not too far away and just a little further down the trail.

If you miss the 10:00AM departure from the first point, go to the second point off of Needles highway here:

Anyone that can't make the 1 meetup point at 10:00AM, go to the Second meetup point, we'll take off from there.

And, if you want to go to the river to say that you've done the Mojave Road from the Colorado River, you'll need to accomplish that before the meetup point.

If you won't be able to make these meetup locations on Friday morning, post up here.

Let me know when you will be at the Second meetup point.

So, if this is where we will be sleeping late Thursday night (off needles rd), is there a reason to go meet at the first meet place?
 
As far as I know I'm still on the wait list I've seen a couple people post they couldn't make it . Is there room for one more. Either way I've been planning this trip before the group did so I will be out there if not part of the group I'll be ahead or behind it. Hope to meet some members

Can someone point me to a packing list or loadout for this kind of trip. How many 5 gallon fuel cans (2014 4runner) should I bring and water cans?

Take a look at post 646 for fuel and roughly 2 gallons per person per day of water (washing self, utensils etc).

So just curious...how long will this trip take. I know it will be Friday and Saturday. But what time on Sunday would you anticipate us finishing the trail? Early morning? After lunch? Thanks Making sure I have enough food! HAHA
