Aside from my Ram 1500 I wanted something i could take down more difficult trails and not worry about trail damage. I ended up buying a Chevy K30 that started its life as a m1031 field maintenance truck.

I bought this truck because of its running gear 6.2l diesel (doesn't make much power) Turbo 400 trans mated to a np205 transfer case. The rear axle has been swamped to a Dana 70 35 spline shaft with Detroit locker, in the front is a Dana 60 king pin with Detroit locker, PSC hydro assist, crossover, and high steer.

The axles have Dually hubs installed allowing for unaltered use of HMWWV wheels. The down side is they are a 16.5 inch rim and the weight. The benefit is the true double beedlock. The Tires are 37 goodyear mt HMMWV tires.

Electrical has been converted to 12v from 24v with dual optima yellow top batteries. The winch is a Smittybilt 12000 xrc. In the rear I installed a quick connect to allow charging of my trailer batteries when driving.

Nice rig! I cant tell, but if your springs are on blocks I'd get a new set of lift springs before you pop a block.
