Thanks, we've had it not even three weeks and we're already transforming this little rig to get off-road bound. The only thing we've learned already is that Jeep stands for "Jeep empty every pocket" and that is the truth. We understand though that this is not a sprint, but a marathon. We still have plenty of time to mod out our rig as the ultimate over lander, but it's definitely going to take a lot of time, some money and especially some experience to get there. Right now we're trying to get our feet wet, by watching youtube marathons, reading forums and talking to other off roaders and what their experiences have been.

Welcome to the group! As far as the financial investment goes, if can escalate quickly. I try to look at it all as an investment, everything I add increases my capability and allows me to do something better/safer than I could before and go farther to see places and things I otherwise would not.

Hi Everybody!

New to Overlanding! Have camped practically my whole life and have been into backpacking for the last 10 years or so. This seems like a logical extension of those two activities. I drive a ‘14 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

Good afternoon. I am currently in Hollister CA. I have a 2017 Ram Rebel that is stock at the moment but lots on order. I have been camping my whole life out of tents at lakes and love the idea of just driving anywhere with a capable vehicle and seeing places I would not have been able to before. See you out there!

RebelJoe sounds good to know all the new updates in the future. I myself did camping, fishing, 4 wheeling all that outdoors growing up off the beaten path and outdoor experience. This is just adding to that experience by making new ones.

Hello all, newbie from VA. Look forward to running some trails with east coasters sometime soon. I drive a 07 Chevy Trailblazer with 3” suspension, 3” body lift, 33” mud terrains and full armor front to back. She taken me on a few little trips, but I’m looking to do a little bit more than I have over the last 4 years.

Hello! My name is Christopher and I am just getting into the overland experience. I live in Waterford, Pennsylvania, just south of Erie, where Lake Erie is. I very recently just purchased a 2002 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 with 86k miles, Regular Cab with a 6.5ft bed for $3200. I bought it bone stock with only minor repairs needed. A week after the purchase, I traveled down to Pittsburgh to pick up a camper shell though it wasn't a direct fit(for older Dakota). Within this next week or so, I plan on buying a "high rise" shell specifically made for it. The tires needed replaced bad, so for now as winter tires/rims, I am using brand new rims and Goodyear Wrangler Radial's, 235/75/15. I do plan on using the stock 16's that I purchased it with for the daily in the other 3 seasons. I bought a brand new brush guard for it and either want to put on 2 KC round lights on it or a LED bar. Other than that, a rack will be placed on the shell and a hitch.

Gregg from Reno, NV. Originally from South Carolina, former Army, married with 2 adventurous daughters. I've owned 4x4's all my life but never a Jeep until recently...2016 JKU Rubicon. I've done a lot of overland trips using quads...loaded to the gills...lol. I'm moving away from them and towards overland trips with the Jeep which will be better for the whole family. I'm looking forward to linking up with others in the Reno / Northern California area for some fun trips.+
