Hello from Northern California (Pleasanton, CA)
My dad owned a 1979 FJ55 and later a 1982 FJ40, and I spent countless hours fixing them, and later traveling through Venezuela with them. Therefore my fascination for Land Cruisers
Always wanted a Land Cruiser, but could not afford the prices nor wanted to buy a very old onw. LAs week, it occured to me to look at the Lexus GX460, and ended up buying one in really good shape for a good price
Long story short, that's my rig: stock GX460
I want to take it for a spin this weekend, and no idea where to go. Want something relatively close not very difficult to get started. Any recommendations?
Nice Rig, I want to get an older 80's series Land Cruiser but that won't be until the future... Working on my T4R right now.

Hello Everyone - I'm Steve and I'm relatively new to overlanding. I have always been a car guy growing up loving speed. More recently I have taken to off-roading and over-landing. I currently have two rigs:

1989 Toyota 4runner - 3vze - 5 speed: I have invested a lot of time and $ in this truck and learned a lot doing so.

And I recently picked up a:

1990 Gen 1 Mitsubishi Montero: almost stock besides 33" Duratrac's and a tune up.

I'm a bit tight on funds at the moment and I was thinking I might sell both (tears) in order to pick up a Gen2 or Gen2.5 Montero and enjoy the luxuries of a never vehicle while building a capable overland truck on a budget. It will be hard to let the Yota go due to the blood, sweat, and tears put into her!

Hello Everyone!

New member here. My name is Dale Chavez, and I'm from Colorado Springs. While I'm not an "overlander", I do enjoy hiking and backpacking and just want to connect with others that love the outdoors. Maybe get some trail and gear ideas!

Dale

Hey Everyone! I’m Lance from Fort Worth, TX. I am just starting my overlanding adventures and I am so glad I came across this community to help me gather information and get started, but I also hope that I can soon be resource to help others as well.

I grew up outdoors and like Michael I became separated from my roots and am wanting to get back to what I love and what makes me happy.

Glad to be here.

Lance
