I’m a 23 year old guy living in the northern parts of Sweden. I have little to no experience in overlanding yet. But I’m getting myself a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ 2,7 L Turbo Diesel this month. There is some work to get it through inspection and so on but after that my plan is to build a good overland rig of it.
Welcome to Overland Bound Linus.

Glad to be a part of the Overland Bound community. I'm well past social security age which the bones feel but the mind does not. The wife, dog and I have travelled in Class A and Class C motorhomes and have pulled several jeeps as our towed/toad for our trips. I have done day trips on forest service and BLM roads but want to try some extended trips camping out of the Jeep. I'm especially interested in the California Backcountry Discovery Trails and am looking forward to learning more from the community.

Rig: 2018 Jeep Wrangler JKU Sport, max tow and leveling kit

I'm blown away by this platform. I will start my participation here by introducing myself:

I'm Brazilian and while living there, I had the opportunity to explore many places in Latin America. I have a youtube channel and an Instagram where I share my adventures. The content is in Portuguese, but if anyone wants information about Overlander in Latin America, feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to help. There I had a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2004 3.0L turbo diesel intercooler 1KZTE that I was preparing to explore the whole world when I retired.

View attachment 248122

Plans changed and I was relocated to Colorado, at the end of 2022.

I already where I am preparing a new vehicle to explore the region.

Since I was passionate about my Prado, I had no doubt about my new vehicle to explore Colorado: Lexus GX470! After looking around a lot, I found one with just under 100k miles extremely clean. Now I'm starting to transform it into an Overlander vehicle.

I look forward to learning more about the Colorado region with you!

Hi All!

I'm new to overlanding, got a Freelander 2 a few years ago and got a roof tent last year, instantly realised this is what we wanted to do with our lives, travel with our dogs in our landy.

Based in the centre of the UK we've so far only done a few weekends away and then the NC500 route in Scotland and it's been a learning curve, but hope to make it onto the continent next year!
Day job I'm a web developer, but I also volunteer 24/7 for Mountain Rescue, as well as getting involved in local flood response - having the 4x4 has helped out a lot on shouts.

Want to thank @Mike W for his recent post on a D4 conversion which has brought me to the forum. Hoping to become a member later, just trying to justify the $33 shipping to the wife

Look forward to getting to know you all as time goes on!

Dan

Hello all.
My name is John Ewing.
I live in Brentwood California (in the SF East Bay, not Los Angeles).
2005 Chevy Trailblazer LS with several modifications.
I have been off-roading with the Trailblazer on the sand dunes in United Arab Emirates, mountain trails in Oman, deserts in California, prairies in Canada, and many other locations. I haven't done a lot of overlanding, but am looking forward to it.

I have had a 4x4 as a daily driver since 1989. My current vehicle is a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer that I bought in November 2005 while on a road trip from Long Island NY to Escondido CA for a job change. The pictures below show the TB near the Burj Dubai (UAE) in it's former glory with a custom front bumper and a 3" lift (maximum for the TB without going to wheel portals). When I imported it to Canada in 2011, I had to return the configuration to stock. I worked in Canada for eight years so it stayed in stock configuration until now. I'm back in California full time now so I want to get back into off-roading. I plan on reinstalling the bumper and lift. Then I'm going to do a full overland conversion. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and having great adventures.

I used to have a 1987 samurai a long time ago. That little tank went everywhere. I just picked it up 94 XJ on 1/14/23. Time to have some fun.

Hi Jimmy,

Welcome to Overland Bound!

Congratulations on your new rig and I wish you many good and safe trips with it. The XJ is a great basis for overlanding.

Hello and welcome to the OB family.
Thanks for the shoutout. We actually have the same motor, except mine is a 4.2l six cylinder. The Atlas is a great platform available in 4, 5 & 6 cylinders. Unfortunately GM quit making them. My motor has over 210k miles on it and still going strong.
