The cruiser that I would not mind having is an 80 imported from Japan by Land Cruisers Direct
http://www.landcruisersdirect.com/
They are near St. Louis, Missouri. The owner, Steve Jackson, picked out a REALLY nice 80, automatic, diesel, etc., and up fitted it to suit his family's off roading needs and he is now selling it. He is asking $65,000, but it is extensively "off road ready, NOW", from the ground up.

If you have never searched his inventory, it is worth a look- see, as vehicles from Japan are in amazing condition with low miles. But most of Land Cruiser's Direct inventory is right hand drive, which you weigh against the fabulous condition of these vehicles to see if that works for you.
I can absolutely vouch for LCD & Steve. I've got 2 of his imports and absolutely love them. :sunglasses:

This is my 1970 FJ55 I bought in 2012. It came with the bumper, lift and SBC/700R4/NP205/Dana44 locker.

Since then it has gained the following:
Astrovan power Steering
3500 Hydro boost brakes
new wheels/tires. 35" Copper STT
FAST EFI system
New fuel system with 40 gallon tank
New custom interior and Speedhut gauges on the way
New exhaust
Frombie High Steer
On board shower
LED headlights and lightbar
a whole bunch of flat black paint cans

Things that will happen after this year's pig party:
Custom sliders
dual batteries/ 200amp alt
new back window
matching spare
rust abatement

This past May I purchased a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80. It already had an arb front bumper, safari snorkel, lift, and 35s. Here's a link to my build thread, so far just cosmetic updates and mechanical work.

https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/family-build-1994-fzj80-land-cruiser.13056/#post-199116

Plans for the future include new exhaust, sliders, rear bumper/tire carrier, and possibly a roof rack. Main purpose is to use it to get the family out of the city and "lost" in the wilderness.
