This is my 2007 Land Cruiser 120 :) it is a VX spec model (original Netherlands registration).
Upgrades that the previous owner did include the Pushbar with Hella Rallye 3000 lights, dark rear windows and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T-A KO tires. Will do some mods myself but first got to save up some cash again.

My mod topic is linked in my signature :)

IMG_1974.JPG Ok new to forums and a new member without a number yet. Not sure I am allowed to post pictures yet. Anyway, I am a new owner of an HJ61. Loving it so far. Getting some bumpers made for it, also looking into roof tent ideas and beyond.
Edit. Ok obviously I learned how to post a pic, haha

I'm just getting started. I went to an off-road training day and learned a lot about what NOT to buy. I do have a list, but what I've done so far:
- removed third row seats
- installed Front Runner drawers

Plans, not necessarily in order:
- new tires, possibly wheels as well
- compressor under the hood
- ARB Summit bar
- snorkel
- 2nd battery w/full CTEK charger set
- lights
- awning

image.jpg Hey everybody how's it going? New member here at overland from southern Illinois.(not Chicago) I've owned my 92 fj80 for about 8 years now only complaint is mpg. The picture is from the first trip out. The things on top are pontoons for a gold dredge.

Here's the spec sheet

Ole man emu 2.5 inch lift, 315/70 Goodyear wrangler mtr on factory fj cruiser 17's Safari snorkel, arb front winch bumper, Ramsey 6000 winch, ipf lights, rear tail light guards, CB, and a few other small things.

Currently building roof rack for the rrt to go on. I'm looking forward to the ahead.

Nice vehicle. You need to bring that gold dredge out west. I hear the spillway that broke out here this winter let loose and eroded a lot of gold.

GM TBI fuel injection (see update @ bottom)
Toyota H55f 5 speed

dual batteries with dual battery bracket and heavy duty battery cables (Urban Land Cruisers) for the starter battery, (Group 31 + 34) with controller; had to modify/ the inner driver's fender to fit in that big Group 31 battery!
new Alcan springs, lifted about 3 inches
Bilstein shocks all around
ARB locker in rear
Power Brute limited slip in front
hitch receiver
8K Ramsey winch
rocker rock sliders with double wall tubing
12 volt National Luna fridge
heavy duty drawers in rear from Australia
rear seat removed, now has platform for our dogs with storage underneath
Front Runner upright and footwell water tanks, 10 gallons each, in rear seat area, plumbed together
no rust
aluminum roof rack by East Coast Bullbars (ECB) of Australia (not installed)
Canadian M101 trailer with custom locking aluminum lid with spring & air supports (rarely used)
Wagon Gear tail gate storage,
CB
H4 headlight conversion with ARB headlight relay kit
PIAA 90 Pro lights, fog & driving lights; driving lights come on/off with high beam switch and both fog & driving lights have their own on/off switch
color matched passenger hand grab handle
GM (higher output) alternator with smaller pulley for greater, lower RPM output
new: seals and bearings everywhere, u joints, clutch, speedometer, windshield and seal, etc.
lengthened brake lines
lengthened and balanced front driveshaft
motor and trans mounts replaced
transfer case rebuilt
new front carpet
new radio (now working so/so)
under hood shower
Held Racing billet aluminum rims, powder coated clear
rear anti sway bar
front & rear tow hooks
differentials & transfer case/transmission high location vent tubes
engine block heater (by Toyota)
large Toyota left & right side view mirrors
rubber floor mats
rear and back windows tinted
MANY spares

And undoubtedly more I can't recall since this work was completed over the years to keep the vehicle "overlanding ready"!

Soon to be installed (next week!): Holley 2 barrel Sniper fuel injection, it JUST came to market, should be great!

So I just joined the ranks of Land Cruiser ownership, after having sold my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I pick up a 1991 FJ80 with 215k on it. Seems to have been well cared for. I still have a few things to address on it...some mechanical, some cosmetic, but that gives me something to do with it until I can start building it out for some adventure travel.

The cruiser that I would not mind having is an 80 imported from Japan by Land Cruisers Direct
http://www.landcruisersdirect.com/
They are near St. Louis, Missouri. The owner, Steve Jackson, picked out a REALLY nice 80, automatic, diesel, etc., and up fitted it to suit his family's off roading needs and he is now selling it. He is asking $65,000, but it is extensively "off road ready, NOW", from the ground up.

If you have never searched his inventory, it is worth a look- see, as vehicles from Japan are in amazing condition with low miles. But most of Land Cruiser's Direct inventory is right hand drive, which you weigh against the fabulous condition of these vehicles to see if that works for you.

My basket case.

1975 FJ40: currently not running and the body has been separated from the chassis for some major repair. This is a long term project. Someday I would love to have it in the shape of my old 67 FJ that I had in college. And then sell it off while I look for an FJ45 PU...
There's an FJ45 shorty in St Helena... but he won't sell arghhh

IMG_1509.JPG IMG_0392.JPG Trailer.JPG A little out of the norm for overlanding but we have over 2k trail miles on her..

1969/2012 FJ40
110" wheelbase
Stretched 18" and narrowed 9"
Custom frame
5.3 Vortech V8
4l60E/4 speed Atlas transfer case
Dana 60s F&R with ARBs
On board air, shower, Engle fridge, inverter
Other stuff..

It actually drives really nice on the roads. We once had a wedding to go to in Tahoe so we drove the Cruiser thru the Rubicon on our way there, then drove home on I-80.We got a lot of looks pulling into the resort fully loaded and straight off the trail!
