Quite a few people have done it and works great. I'll be making a mounting system in the back of my rig to hold my CO2 and fire exstinguisher, but also allow it to either be moved or removed with wing nuts if needed.
Watch the weight, it gets heavy real quick, just saying.

I never got to making the mounting system in the trunk area. I got some heavy duty sliders from my father in law to make a drawer system, and co2 and extinguisher have just been strapped in the back. I did pick up some Z71 Tahoe springs for my trailblazer since the rig is weight down quite a bit fully loaded.

I will probably be doing aluminum t slot next to replace the super strut. One nice thing was that I got the long pieces and cut them down to 52 inches, that width makes it to where you end up evenly spaced between the slots on the super strut.
