Clothing what do you pack?

As Jimmy mentions about if you cant wear an item more than one way you probably shouldn't bring it...

Something like Columbia PFG or L. L. Bean's Tropicwear shirts can be had in short or long sleeves, but the long sleeves can be rolled up and buttoned so they stay up above your elbow. Sometimes I dont even bother bringing a short sleeve shirt other than a tee.

3 in 1 cold weather coats, same thing. A nice fleece that snaps and zips into a quality waterproof shell, which itself could be worn alone.

We'll all experience different clothing differently, so every opinion on "the best" is valid.

For what it's worth we've ended up with Icebreaker socks and Craghoppers trousers and shirts. I find the Columbia material less "breathable" and the Craghoppers material better, particularly in hot/humid climates.

I'd have to say, yes, sometimes the Columbia PFG gets a little smelly. The LL Bean is a slightly heavier shirt but is still breathable. Craghopper, I've never tried and only ever seen them a couple of years ago up in North Conway NH. Wasn't sure if THEY were a knockoff until I looked them up while standing in the store for the first time. I'll have to try them.

I’ve also seen similar durable, outdoor-style shirts in a Trachten Shop, which is interesting because they’re usually more traditional clothing stores, but some carry practical pieces too.

Icebreaker socks I know nothing about

If I had a go bag for 3–5 day solo Jeep trips, I’d pack a few basic clothing changes like socks, underwear, a couple shirts, pants, and a warm layer, but I wouldn’t overdo it. I’d focus more on essentials like a first aid kit, power bank, headlamp, multi-tool, water, snacks, and basic toiletries so I can stay safe and self-sufficient on the road.

the wife and I always pack way more than we need and generally end up wearing about 20% of what we take. no matter what I pack or where we go, I generally end up wearing the same thing over and over...sweat pants and a white t-shirt. very comfortable and very versatile. sweats and t-shirt are very comfortable for driving and also great for hiking. if its really cold, i'll have a specific clean set I wear to bed. fashionable enough to wear into a Walmart or Cracker Barrel, so even with a duffel bag full of jeans and button down shirts...my sweats and white t-shirt are my go-to. I only get the navy blue and heather gray sweats and I do take one pair of black sweats if I need to dress up a bit...

I have three very distinct uniforms, shorts with button down short sleeve shirt- shorts with T shirts. 4 of each for fair weather wear. Long pants, flannel shirts, for winter- 4 of each; if it gets really cold, long johns hoodie and a down vest.
