CDN M101 in Vegas

Installed propane tank. I utilized one pre-drilled hole from where the “handle bar” had been mounted and drilled three more. It’s a little lower than I would’ve liked but doesn’t extend lower than the frame rails and I didn’t have to remove the right front tie-down.

Man your trailer is so awesome. I have a question though, maybe it's not a deal for propane, but what happens if you're travelling down the highway and kick up a rock and it punctures that tank? Is there any chance of a splosion?

Chances are very slim. I doubt there would be enough velocity on anythything you’d kick up from the road to puncture the tank. Having taken my fair share of tanks out to shoot, anything did puncture the tank would simply vent the contents without exploding. The only way I have gotten one to ignite is having a road flare attached when shot.

ahh ok cool. I know they are low pressure tanks, so I think maybe that would keep it from exploding, but I wasn't sure. I also have seen them on so many outback trailers that I kinda thought it wasn't a worry, but I just never actually asked anyone lol

Is your trailer painted, or Line X'd?

I like the cdn trailers. My Bantam is a 1946, so I have a few rust issues to deal with. I’m going to with a 10lb propane tank, myself. But I will mount mine on the rear fender, only because I’m building Jerry can mounts on both front corners. I’m getting excited to install my tent soon!
Yours is looking great! I can’t wait to see your future posts!

The Canadian M101 military is a really robust trailer with lots of build potential. There is a Yahoo discussion group that was a great source of information, I don't see many questions on it now, but it is still a very good read, see

Looks awesome. Take lots of pics when you're fully setup at the campsite. Looking forward to seeing them! Have a great trip!

Nice Rig!

Does the sag on the Jeep, due to the trailer tongue weight, bother you? If so what options might you consider to be able to raise the rear end so it your Jeep is level?

I replaced the rear springs with heavier springs which has helped. I also load the trailer so the weight is more balanced. Empty, most of the weight on the trailer is to the front with the tongue box, battery and propane tank.

Camping in the desert in the summer is brutal, but winter camping can be amazing. Headed south of Nelson NV for another weekender.

Took a friend with us who was set up in a tent that was a little too small for the cot she borrowed from us.

Camp kitchen is a priority for our trips and it’s nice to have a wife who looks forward to cooking in the field.

Looks like a great trip. How did you set up your light under your tent? What temps did you guys reach at night?
