Our 2019 Toyota 4 Runner SR5 joined our family in September 2020 as a tow vehicle for our 2018 forest River R-Pod 180. First thing we did was to change the street rubber for All Terrain tires. Next was to build a drop hitch for the trailer. Soon we ordered frig/freezer, a roof rack, roof top tent and awning. I have changed exterior and interior lighting to led. We try to take her out at lease twice a month seeking adventure and new sun sets and sun rises.

Great setup! How well does the 270 awning work with the tailgate?

Looks like a 180, lifted up by contact with the tailgate. My OVS 180 did that before I moved it to the drivers side.
Good eye, I thought it was going over!

For your 180, shouldn’t it be the same driver or passenger side? What changed?

The hinges are set different. One is further from the bracket so the arms fold over the other arms. By changing sides, the rear hinge was an extra inch and a half out from the side, which made a big difference with the tailgate.

I thought I replied to your question, but I must not of posted it.
Your question on the 270 is right on target. I am very disappointed! I have tried moving it forward and raised it what the stealth rack would allow. I guess It would of been able to adjust higher with the taller rack. I am now using the 270 as a 180. If I don't leave the lift gate up I can use it as a 270.

It is a 270 awning!

I have always liked white! But I buy silver. What brand is your trailer? tell us about it's features. Also tell us where you find dispersed camping in Texas.
My trailer is a VRV Flyer--all aluminum frame and body--but they are out of business.
