2017 GMC Sierra overland build

Yeah, I like it. And I just wanted to know because I'm probably gonna just do that same thing.

But then I saw yours and suddenly wondered what it would be like to encase that in a PVC pipe with a slot running the length of it, with just that rigid end on the outside of the PVC...and two little "paper towel" roll holder type nubs inside the end caps, so the bar the tarp wraps around can be free-spinning. Maybe a crank on one and just to wind it back up and wrap it up easier? Like a fishing reel crank...

I dont know but you got me thinking.

I'm just not sure how I would affix the pvc pipe to the roof rack without the hardware affecting the free-spinning of the central roller...

Your getting more complex then I did. I was going to use pvc but would need atleast 1" for rigidity. But a 6 foot run of pvc will still flex. Thats why I chose to use EMT Conduit. Conduit might cost a little bit more but the rigidity factor played key in idea.

My current build is a 2017 GMC Sierra it's a slow build but its slowly getting there.
