I love all of the attachments you have in the bed. Keeps the bed space usable. I dig it. I am interested in SAR for when I retire from the army. It's been something ive thought about in the past. How did you get started.

Thanks! I have a few friends that have been in SAR for a few years, the team needed to be rebuilt so I jumped in head first and haven’t looked back! I highly recommend looking at www.nasar.org when you have some time.

Removed my front air dam and underskirt/epas skid and installed my powder coated aluminum RCI skid plates for the engine, transmission and transfer case. Gas tank skid happens this weekend. Awesome stuff, super easy install. Took 1.5 hours to complete from unpacking to final torquing. Much improved protection, now to find som proper rock sliders.

I took the Slumberjack tarp for a test run during a wilderness medicine class this weekend. While a small amount of rain pooled in the top overall it dis a great job! For the price I highly recommend it, killer amount of coverage.

The bed worked out great, I’m looking forward to finding the time to build the drawers. The Alubox 42s are the perfect seat height in the bed.

sorry for the slow reply, I’ve been in the woods a lot. My SPOD is mounted to a simp,y fabbed bracket. Nothing fancy but it’s rock solid.

Today I built the drawer boxes and installed the slides. I need to get back to the wood supply shop for some 1/2” Baltic birch to make the drawer faces. I so installed lashing points on the top to keep my sleeping pad in place as well as tie down gear whil mobile. The latches are a marine type cast stainless. I think these should work out pretty well.

I’m hoping to finish this up this week, we’ll see.

Hey, Cort. This was in my thesis :) .

Renewed response efficacy.
In short, policy reforms following 2005's Hurricane Katrina disaster, starting with the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006, paved the way for increased response efficacy across the spectrum of disasters (Abbasi, Shooshtari, & Tofighi, 2017b; Bullock, Haddow, Capolla, 2014a; Harrald, 2012e). Among the most significant shifts has been the reintegration of volunteer and other non-governmental elements into response plans, allowing for significantly greater surge capacities that enable states and municipalities to respond to emergencies and disasters with vigor beyond what can be affected at the federal level (Barbisch & Koenig, 2006; FEMA, 2017d; Harrald, 2012e). For example, Team Rubicon, a non-profit group that is but one of over 50 formalized National Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster, was able to send dozens of individuals to support the response efforts in Houston within days after Hurricane Harvey struck (Glenn, 2017e). Within 24 hours after the rains ended, these volunteer floodwater rescue teams had already recovered 39 survivors, and within a week they had cleared multiple neighborhoods and rescued dozens more citizens (2017e). Not only did these actions expedite meeting victims' disaster needs without direct expenditure of precious state and federal disaster management dollars, but helped reserve high-priority government search and rescue assets for the most dire circumstances (2017e).
Great work you guys are doing :) .

I’m happy with the turn out and feel like this will last longer than my truck!

I wanted to get some more air moving in my truck and keep the bugs away but I couldn’t find a quality commercial option for this. I want to be able to keep the tailgate open for the summer months. This is just prototype V1.0 but I found a $20 mosquito net on amazon, cut it in half and taped the edges just to test this out. I envision a possible Velcro option that will attach to the underside of the cap door while its in the open position. We will see how this pans out. This set up will work great along with the slumberjack tarp I have.

Any suggestions are always welcome.

Today I had some new wheels installed, once the rubber wears I’m going to put 35”s on, currently stock size. I also installed a bed rug, I’ll be living in the truck for two weeks next month and my knees can’t take the rough spray liner. Hopefully this will be more comfortable in the winter too.

Picked up a 10’ lumenoodle and Velcroed it to the ceiling, perfect amount of light. 9DEEF3A9-47BB-4280-9DDF-650BC53AB7EF.jpeg9533870E-649E-4840-8AD7-06DF62884736.jpegC5692411-29D7-426A-9688-D3C1604A0A14.jpeg

@Cort Did you ever locate some proper rock sliders? The only ones I can find appear to be the SmittyBilt M1 Rock sliders which bolt to the frame, but appear to use a sandwich like bracket.

I'm still looking, because most "sliders" just bolt to the cab...
