@Buddabuda That rack looks super functional! I’m looking at something similar from sherpa equpt co.

I have no complaints about the tent riding on the roof other than needing a rack. As for noise I don’t hear a thing. My wife would complain if it did make noise.

I typically set the cruise to the posted limit. On the hard road around here the speed limits are 50 to 75. As for distance I usually stick to weekend warrior stuff so distances are typically 100ish on hard road and 30-50 on the dirt. Honestly I dont even notice it up there. I was expecting MPG...

The only con I've experienced with the t4 is the size when collapsed for transport. Currently we are strapping the tent to the maxtrax and crossbars. It’s not ideal but it will work till we get a proper rack. The materials seem to be top quality. We fit 5 no problem and have enough room for our...

    Dispersed Camping Northern New Mexico

My first thought is to get off of i40 at highway 84 then drive 518 north through the national forest. Check with the forest service to see if fr442 gates are open to camp. Then from there head to Pagossa springs area then into Durango via 160. If you find yourself on highway 550 through Cuba NM...

Rio Costilla is just about as good of fishing as it gets. They usually open the gates to go to the Latir lakes about the time you are going. If u have a chance wheel up that road to go fish the lakes. Anything hopper and caddis usually works this time of year. Have fun.

@p4.adventure wow looks good! A rack would change my life. I’ll bet the trash canvas is a game changer too. Nice 5th gen btw.

Roof rack and lightbar for my 5th gen 4Runner

Very nice setup. I need an option to get a few boxes along with our tent on the roof. We are a family of 5 in the 4Runner and the factory rack barley meets my requirements How is the fit and finish of the LFD? Are you easily able to mount boxes up there? I need to mount 2 of these bad boys on...

Good call, I am going to see what I can do. One of these days us NM folks are going to have to meet up somewhere off grid.

The 5 of us are headed out next weekend with the T4 (3 kiddos and 2 adults. We fit just fine btw). I’ve got the stock bars on my 5th gen 4Runner with maxtrax pins mounted. There’s room on either side of the maxtrax for the tent. I definitely plan on mounting next to one side of the pins for...

Thanks for the good info. Im a little higher than stock on my 4Runner. I'm thinking I should be ok if the water crossings are tame.

Thank you very much for sharing your route. I actually had something similar routed out on North Star Mesa road. But I was hoping copy your route if you don't mind. Are there any sketchy or impassable sections of the road I should know about before heading out on this trek you shared. This...

New 19 4Runner OR owner looking for recommendation

I put 302/325 Dobinsons lift and Dirt King BJ UCAs on my 4runner and have been thrilled with the ride. It’s definitely not oversprung like my OME on my 3ed gen snd the nose dive when braking is gone. It’s super comfortable on and off road. With Dobinsons Dirt Kings and FN Six Shooter wheels I...

Thanks friends. I ended up going to Abq Tire. A forum member on TW highly recommended a guy that has been an alignment tech on his lifted Toyota trucks for over 15 years. 4Runner came out great. Drives straight. It’s been a busy month or so getting everything on paper and put onto the 4Runner...

Can I get a recommendation on a good alignment shop in the ABQ area. I just installed a Dobinsons/Dirt king lift and need to get into an alignment shop this week. From what I read most shops do a decent job on stock vehicles but it takes an "experienced tech" to dial in a lifted truck. Ive used...
