Is the group scheduled to go out there in October? I’d like to be part of that again!Speaking of trail guardian- who is in charge of the trophies/rankings in OB?
I’m not all about badges and such, but it’d be nice to be recognized within our group as a contributing member.
I m new to overlanding and installed a midland gmrs because a lot of the outings showed that radio as a primary comm option and I don’t have a ham license. Two trips later, I find out no one is using anything but hams (between each other on the trail). I plan on getting my license, but just want...
Went with the single motor compressor- the biggest tires I’ll be running are 33’s. It might be a little slower but for the cost savings over the twin right now, I’ll gladly wait another minute!
Can anyone tell me the time difference in airing up between the dual and single ARB compressors? The dual is now approaching $600! I’m going to be running 33” tires on my YukonXL. I’d rather save $250 to buy all the rest of the stuff(air hose etc) if I’m only going to be saving a few secs by...
Trying to keep it simple, lighter weight up top and less $$.
Used a stainless metal pegboard panel mounted to OEM roof rack crossbars. ($34 on Amazon).(Going to get shorter bolts so they don’t hang down).
Suspension next.
We love our big truck. We sleep indoors on a 6” trifold mattress, have quick setup and takedown kitchen using two boxes: one houses our custom Chuck box kitchen, the other our dry goods. We also use a tire table for the grill and a small collapsable one for food prep and Chuck...
Anyone found a set of hand held gmrs walkie talkies they’re happy with? I want some hand helds for spotters that work with my midland radio that’s mounted in the truck. Also, for family members hiking away from vehicle. The Midland ones on Amazon appear to give great reviews until you read...
With no one administering tests, is there a good second choice for a radio that you’re using on the trail?
Trying to complete my Yukon XL build and want to get the right stuff the first time.
Should I just wait? Thanks for any advice.
Love the new look but, unfortunately the bumper company sent the wrong mounting brackets so the fit isn’t right yet. Going back to the fab shop for refitting when the brackets arrive first of the week. After that, I think I’ve decided to just go with a 2.5” leveling kit (1” in back) and 33”...
Literally and figuratively.
Prepped the front end to lessen the install charges for the new bumper, winch and lights going on tomorrow. The Trail Ready is one of the few made for these old trucks (2004 Yukon XL). Can’t wait as I’ve been driving around 5 years with a banged up front bumper...
Thinking of getting the Wilco Hitchgate Max for my Yukon XL project. It mounts in the trailer hitch, can carry a 38” tire, a hi-lift Jack (horizontal or vertical) and many gas can options. It also locks in the open position.
Any experience or advice on this product?
Thanks for your input in...
