We are moving in! I have questions....

Hi all, My name is Tyler, I am 40 years old, and I currently live in Canada. My wife and I have been on the fence for moving to New Zealand for a while. My brother-in-law made the move years ago to New Plymouth and it has always been in the back of our minds. We have been told this is a...

What is your favorite overland/camp stove?

I have an old vintage Coleman two burner stove that I've installed in my truck. It's the only stove I've ever found with such a wide range of heat control. I also use a BioLite stove when we want to cook meat on an open flame. there are usually fire bans around here so we don't rely on cooking...

    Big Rigs, Full Sized Only

Love full size trucks as we are always stocked. Even in everyday driver. This is a coffee and Bailey's in a snowstorm after a day skiing.

What is your preferred shelter? (Rooftop Tent vs Ground Tent vs Etc...)

We sleep 4 inside the truck. Kids sleep in their "bunk beds" in the cab. Wife, dog and myself sleep on a sleeping platform in the box of the truck under the canopy.

    Bear country

We camp exclusively with kids in bear country. We have seen lots of bears but never had an issue. Key thing is no food, cooking, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet or anything near where you are sleeping that might give off a scent. Absolutely no smells. They are attracted by smell. Keep all...

    Ali Express rooftop tent

I imported a standard RTT from Alibaba in the past. Didn't end up saving too much money as it cost a fortune to ship it. The prices always include shipping but that is only to a port in China. I had to cover the boat ride and the shipping from the coast in land. Saved about $500 on the price...

Where did you install your OB emblem?

I peeled my LEER badge off my canopy and replaced it with my OB one on both sides

270 degree awning. Passenger or Driver side?

I am fairly certain I am going to pick up the Wraptor 4K awning that was showcased on YouTube. Which side of the vehicle do I get? What are the pros and cons to each? We always camp and set up on the passenger side, but my kitchen slide comes out of my truck box on the driver side and I don't...

I use a Coleman Fold N Go. Dual burners that folds in half when storing so it takes up less space.

    RTT on a Canopy

Everything gets locked very firmly into place on that thing. I used it a ton this past summer, but it is not without it's cons. I had to unload the box of the truck to set up and tear down. Also, tents are not waterproof upside down. I found that out the hard way! That's why I've gone with...
