Bow saw or other for small firewood chores?

I carry a Silky Zubat 300 as well as my other saws. Great piece of kit.

2020 Spring Run Kentucky Adventure Trail

Unfortunately, my schedule changed therefore I'm unable to make the trip. However, if anyone is interested in doing the KAT sometime in the fall I will be driving from AZ and making the trip then. I will know the dates by the end of this month and will post them up.

Big Bend National Park, 17-30 June, 2019

No, I didn't make it. A last minute opportunity to go camping with my son popped up so I changed plans and went to California to spend time with him. After camping in Big Bear I took time and made my way from Barstow to Needles on the Mojave Road. Had a great trip.

My comment was more aimed at a 'camping meetup' for the sake of a regular camping trip. I agree that a meet & greet should be more localized and visitor friendly. I follow a lot of threads so I might be getting my wires crossed... Are you guys talking about mixing the two together? Having a...

US Southwest East Valley, Phoenix Meet up.

Unfortunately I'll miss that. I'm still out of town working until the Nov 1st.

One thing that we like to do is someone out early to scout/claim a good spot up in the woods and then just send out the lat/long. Everyone finds their way there. I'm usually the one doing the scouting because I have a flexible schedule which allows me to claim good spots before the city...

Check out this event. Turtleback trailers owners get together and camp out. It's called a Herd Gathering (Herd of Turtles...). The next one is 08 -11 Nov up in Sedona. You don't have to have a trailer - everyone is welcome! It would be a great opportunity for you to meet one of the owners...

There's a Herd Gathering the weekend of 08 - 11 Nov in Sedona. If it's where I think it's going to be it's a SWEET spot. Here's a pic from just a few weeks ago. https://www.facebook.com/pg/turtlebacktrailers/events/?ref=page_internal

Bow saw or other for small firewood chores?

I live by the old adage that “one is none and two is one.” I carry a chainsaw, forestry ax, hatchet, Sven Saw and a Silky 330. Each serves its own purpose. Sometimes a chainsaw is needed. Other times I like to swing an ax. I use the hatchet for hunting, backpacking and around camp. Hand saws...

The trailer is a Turtleback Getaway Trail and the factory is in Phoenix. The tent is a 23 Zero, Walkabout 72. It's a 4+ person, four season tent and has a California king mattress. It's mounted on a custom roof rack made by the trailer manufacturer. The roof rack does not move - it's mounted...

Thanks! I hear ya... Not having a wife (in my case) frees up a lot of disposable income. ;)

I’m out of town for work and not exactly sure of my return date although it should be the first week of November. Because of my uncertainty I can’t commit however if you get something setup and I make it back in time I’ll join the group. Jeep and trailer...

    Fallen trees on the trail

I always carry a chainsaw, ax and saw. We came across this little tree-fall earlier this year. We climbed over it initially with our rigs but someone finally cut it out.

    Toughest trail you've been on?

Dusy-Ershim in California is a good one. And of course the Rubicon near Lake Tahoe. Several in Moab, UT will tighten the sphincter as well.
