For setting up camp or cooking in the dark, I like a good old Coleman lantern. Beyond that, I prefer as little light pollution as possible, especially if there are neighbors. I also like to use headlamps for last minute tasks in the evening, getting the tent interior set up, and late night...

I've owned one for a couple of years now. Spendy? sure Is it worth it? to me it has been. I've used it for recovery, digging fire pits, clearing rubble piles, etc... If nothing else, the looks on peoples faces when they ask if you have a shovel and you pull out a Krazy Beaver is priceless.
