Agree with Swhirstein and AZ Wandering Bear. Best thing is that it is solid. Got rear ended when I was at a full stop on CA 101 and the 4Runner didn't budge. The vehicle that hit me lost it's front end.
Along with the Technician Class manual , two sites I found useful for taking the practice exams were

I bought a used one from a friend who was getting the latest and greatest model. It works quite well. I like the ability to see the map of waypoints of where I went and clip the image for my blog.
KI7RAM..... passed the exam a couple of months ago and got my ICOM 4100a for Christmas...actually I got it early in Dec...LOL ... Still struggling with not messing up my head liner with the antennae install. :confounded:
I purchased the ICOM 4100a and tested it out. No issues at all. I did install a separate speaker and a flexible seat bolt mount (18") for the head unit.

Which style do you use?
Looking Good.... I did a similar set up with tubes and slats. It worked well. The longest trip in this config was 15 days up the west coast to Canada and back.
WOW! The builds in these threads are great. I can see where I'll get some great ideas for possible future adds to my 4Runner so as a new member I am adding my thread to the forum.
Being newbies to Overlanding, my wife and I were a bit perplexed at what vehicle to purchase that would meet two...
Nicely done. Neat and clean. I am considering a single drawer to the left of my fridge since I installed a full platform for the fridge slide and extra storage space. Of course I gave up my bench seat for it. :-)
I've done a few modifications to my 4Runner. The biggest task was installing a wooden platform similar to yours but I took out the two-seat bench and extended my platform it this area to carry more supplies. Still on my list is bumper, wench, and sliders.
