    California to Oregon and back...

If you're north as far as Mount Bachelor, try to allow a day hiking at Smith Rock State Park NW of Redmond (north of Bend.) It is a rock climbing mecca, and an absolutely beautiful place. It was one of the rare surprises on our cross-country trip last fall. Try for a weekday, as it can get short...

Building, Driving and Adventuring the MTN4RNR

Very nice install tutorial! I'll be using a lot of these when I start adding additional lighting to my 4Runner. One thing I plan to do is run a pair of heavy wires (fused) from the battery to a terminal block somewhere in the rear to run any lights and accessories. The next time you need to...

    LX450 80 series build thread

Open the back back seat door of a 2016 Land Cruiser, and tumble the seat forward. Watch the hard plastic seat back bash into the non-removable rear seat entertainment screen. Who's the idiot that didn't test this! Shoulda left the screen overhead like it has been on previous years. (Note: you...

Wonderful photo! No EXIF data attached. What lens did you rent? My 85mm f/1.4 and 180mm f/2.8 are by far my best lenses, and take similar images.

I bought a MeFoto aluminum Globetrotter earlier this year. I didn't see the sense in spending another $175 for carbon to save 0.5 pounds. It already weighs almost half what my good Bogen weighs, and takes up much less room. I'll be more likely to take it all the time. One leg works as a monopod...

    I'm Back!

It was said mostly in jest. You were one of the first to follow us on Instagram from my posts on the Land Rover forum. I'm guessing I'll lose a fair number of the Subaru followers once it and the Facebook change. I think I'll change the Facebook page from "Exploring the USA in a Subaru " to just...

    I'm Back!

I was looking for when you last posted just a week or so ago. There's a guy here with a white LR3/4, and I was going to point at yours as an example of what he needs to do. :) You can stop following me on Instagram now. ;) I'm not getting an LR4 after all. I have a new 4Runner on order that I...
