The Adventure Wagon: A 2004 Volvo XC70 Overland Build

I went all Mickey Mouse, running the wiring down the edge of the windscreen with 3M zip tie bases, and in the rear or the hood. Here was my Outback thread: Steve's Cross-Country Subaru Outback Look on page 5.

Rooftop Access Ladder: Use it, or a waste of money?

You missed a post above. Mine arrived a couple days ago. ;)

If you had to start over, what different rig would you start with?

I just bought my new 4Runner last May, so nothing has really changed. But since the thread rule is that I can't pick the same vehicle, I guess it would be what I really wanted this time around, but couldn't justify: a very lightly used 200 Series Toyota Land Cruiser, preferably a 2015. The 2016...

What Camp Saw Do You Use? (Non-powered hand saws)

Now that's a saw! $171 on Amazon, and a replacement blade is about the same price as two of the entire Corona saws we have. Amazon link --> http://amzn.to/2jVBnUI @Shizzy She has a folding Fiskars similar to yours, but without the soft handle. We liked the more rigid fixed blade for everyday...

What Camp Saw Do You Use? (Non-powered hand saws)

After reading several reviews and watching umpteen YouTube videos showing various saws in use, we ended up with a Corona #7395 14" curved tooth pruning saw. It is sharp right out of the box, maintains an edge, has fine teeth, so it doesn't grab, but far enough apart that it doesn't hang up in...

What Camp Saw Do You Use? (Non-powered hand saws)

My wife is an avid gardener. We have vegetable gardens, flower gardens, butterfly gardens, herb gardens, fruits, ornamental trees, etc. As you can imagine, proper tools are a big requirement for easy maintenance of all of these. She has pruners, shears, clippers, etc. And a bow saw. The bow saw...

Any Interest in a New England Fall gathering?

If this becomes an Overland Bound event, I'm sure @Michael could help out with some goodies like he did when @Overland-Indiana put together an event last summer.

Rooftop Access Ladder: Use it, or a waste of money?

Update: My Gobi ladder and heavier replacement struts arrived today. I won't mount it until I receive the PrinSu roof rack and get it mounted. The ladder seems well made, with a good thick powder coat.

    Heading to Yellowstone 2017

Also, plan on huge crowds. We were at Old Faithful mid-October 2015 and were two of maybe two hundred people watching the eruption. We were there mid-September 2016 and were three of what the rangers said were (if I remember correctly) 3000-5000 people. Both of these dates were after the busy...

The Adventure Wagon: A 2004 Volvo XC70 Overland Build

Not that I've noticed. Here's photo from the driver's seat in my Outback with the light on the basket. The front of the basket was about 6" behind the top of the windscreen. Here's photo from the driver's seat of my 4Runner with the light on the basket. The front of the basket is behind my...

    Heading to Yellowstone 2017

Tetons: "River Road", in Grand Teton National Park Also search for Mormon Row, and visit these iconic farm buildings. Yellowstone: Tons of popular places to visit, but one we've really enjoyed the two times we've been there that I'd never heard about prior was the loop around Firehole Lake...

    What straps do you use?

I use ROK Straps of varying length. I found out about them when strapping stuff on my scooter, and they work well in my roof basket on the 4Runner. http://www.rokstraps.com (Google Images)

Excellent news! I'm glad to see you back on the trails with renewed vigor. Those are some very nice photos, but I really love the last one. If we haven't discussed it before, a light bar works really well behind that flip down basket fairing. Clean looking, too. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk
