Starting to see a little chunking and lots of thin slices in the tread of my Wildpeaks. I'm not sure how many miles I have on them but likely under 10k and they see a lot of trail abuse. These small slices will most likely lead to chunking. That makes me suspect I'll have to swap them out long...
So far so good on the UCAs. I ran them pretty hard in Death Valley last weekend. Lots of bouncing around at higher speeds on rutted and rocky trails through Goler Wash, Mengel etc.

Agreed! The 3ply sidewall is awesome. Have you seen how hard Lite Brite beats on those tires? My Wildpeaks are 59lbs so a couple extra pounds for durability isn't going to hurt much. :sunglasses:
Thanks!
I had the P before swapping to the LT. The Ps had better wet traction but less offroad traction due to shallower tread. I wanted the LTs for the extra tread depth and tougher carcass. I still managed to puncture one through the sidewall with a stick.
I really like the tires but for my...
LT285/70/17E on 5200lb-5600lb Canyon
33 to 38psi on street
12-17psi on the trail. 15psi is my go to pressure lately.
15psi with a nice footprint
15psi on an off camber rock. No bead issues
Rubicon is no joke. :)
I considered doing what you planned this year but I knew deep down my truck isn't ready nor am I ready to accept a bunch of body damage or broken parts.
Strawberry was fun though. I ran it a few weeks ago. :)
I spent 5 days exploring Death Valley with friends of Overland Bound. While driving through Trona to topoff with fuel I noticed a dead kitten in the road and then another one on the side of the road an 1/8th mile away. After fueling up and buying drinks I decided to go back and check on that...
Lmao! I have 2 more but can't fit them anywhere else up front. I even though about sticking one above the 1st skid plate but I need the bag to be something that won't melt against the radiator base. l
Shoot. I looked them up and they are a 2ply sidewall but the use a durable material used in the X3 so they should be stronger than the typical 2ply sidewall tire. So probably similar to the Wildpeak A/T3W which is 2ply but has high turn-up plies which makes then closer to 3ply.
For sure. When at street pressure the cross section is closer to the tread width but since most of us air down off-road I think it's important to point out how different they look and will interact with the trail. :) Which brings up another point Shaun was making. These Wildpeaks appear way...
