    The Guadalupe were definitely starting to heat up over Memorial Day. Moving north into the Sacramento Mountains was definitely nice.

    I do something similar. Outside my local area I monitor 146.52 146.46 gmrs 15 sometimes I also will have either HF ham or a CB with me.

    A small group of us were out a month ago and an entourage of at least 20 jeeps passed us the other direction. That was an unwieldy size. Doing 75 is beyond ludicrous.

    You’re probably running into similar things I’ve found with my Tahoe. A bumper is a bumper, right? On the pickups the bumper and grill are separate parts. On the Tahoe not so much. I could very likely do a bumper for the 1500 pickup, but I’d need a grill too, so it’s listed as not compatible.

    I concur on Lake Meredith as a stopping point. the campgrounds are nice, and free to boot.

    Don’t go after significant rain fall the stream crossings are subject to flash flooding. A few days after some decent rain, and many of the roads will be a bit muddy And the dust is still down.
